Our affiliates in Thailand do only high quality work. At our most important affiliate facility, quality control is monitored daily by our good friend, Mr. Tee, who has been in the business of producing high quality solid wood doors for over 40 years. Prices and quality from shops under his management simply cannot be beat. Through shops under his management we can service sales as small as a single door or as large as 100 doors or more.
Many of our catalog pictures are professional and polished for the catalog. They are designed to show their content in the best light. However, we have several pictures taken by our staff right in the shop. These pictures are not posed or professional. I hope these pictures provide a good reflection of the shop, the process and the people. Some pictures were taken with a digital camera and the resolution, at times, is not quite as good as the pictures from the film camera. However they all provide good information about our operation.
There are several companies selling teak and other hardwood doors. No matter who you buy from, make sure that the teak (or whatever lumber type you specify) is KILN DRIED otherwise you will have problems with the fit of the door in the weeks and months after installation as the door adjusts to the humidity levels where you live. The wood should be dried to 19% or less. In addition, do not settle for any doors not using grade A lumber.
At the Teakmarket, ALL of our doors use teak Kiln Dried to 15% Moisture content or less. We can provide additional Kiln drying where customer conditions require it. You will have no problems with the fit in the weeks and months after you install our doors. In addition, all of the lumber used in our doors is grade A for export. Most of our standard doors are available for a purchase price per door of $360 USD to $450 USD (unframed). Substantial discounts are available for volume purchases. We charge only the actual shipping costs (plus a $20 USD preparation charge for orders of 2 doors or less). We will ship in the manner you specify and we make no additional margin on shipping costs.
